Seeking after Him

25th May 2010

I was speaking at a youth retreat this weekend, and I was way out in the woods….  Like spiders and bugs and…..  You know what I am talking about.   If at first glance I would have made the decision I would have never gone…  I looked and didn’t like what I saw.  Woods, spiders, no AC, and all that…  When I first took a look at what I thought was God I did not like either….  Lets Be Real you know…  I saw ties, giving money away, and rules, and all those people who claimed to be following and there judgmental attitude of me an all I was and still am today..  But that was not seeing the forest for the trees thinking…   After stepping into the woods this weekend what I found was love, a “want to” attitude exuded by the workers and the young people who were all on a journey….  A  journey to grow and find a closer relationship w/ God…  If I would have stopped on the outside and not took a closer look I would have missed the experience I was able to find this weekend…  I’m just saying… You know…  But don’t get me wrong I have stepped in places and they were exactly what they looked like from the outside…  judgmental, hypocritical, and plain just unfriendly…  But I would never trade the awesome experiences I have had to do away with the bad…  But the problem here is what are you looking for…  Seek after Him(Jesus) and you will never go wrong…  If you seek after Him, not religion, not church, you will find Him…     ( Psalm 24 )Seek the face of God, not anything else!!!  Come experience God in a whole new way at the FLOOD June 27th….

  1. I think we all need to step into the woods. Get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and just quiet ourselves and really listen to God. If we leave “things” behind and stop thinking about the world, we WILL hear God’s voice. It may be a still, small voice or it may be as loud as the rolling thunder. Whatever it takes to get out attention. If we don’t stop all the busyness of our lives we will miss God! I don’t want that to happen.
